A Fatal Flaw

At Parari we have been handling excess inventories for years.  Seldom do we find a situation where managers, owners and entrepreneurs don't strudel with parting  with a bounty of hoarded  excess inventory.  I have seen everything warehoused and organized from out of date fuel filters to WWII supplies.  We should start putting use by dates on most anything but even if we don't our consumers will.  We all want the newer, better version in almost everything.  Few items are destined  for the "Worth more now than then" file.

  1. Once inventory has been fully depreciated, it is worth salvage costs.
  2. There is a high cost of maintaining inventory; shelf space, warehouse space, clutter and confusion for warehouse workers.
  3. It will not likely increase in value.
  4. While polyester suits may come back in style, it will be a slightly different design, so stop hoarding.
Surprisingly, we have never had a client complain about getting rid of inventory.  Yes, it may sell for pennies on the dollar but your operation is better for it.  With our help, we can create significant tax deductions and a great charitable contribution.  Check the papers for the next bankruptcy sale; go visit.  You will see that holding on to excess is one of many fatal flaws. Closing thought, this is true for every kind of inventory imaginable.  There are markets for most anything, the skill is knowing where they can be found.
